3d Modeling
Blueprints
Users have collected a number of sites containing blueprints that can aid in truck development. Check out the Blueprints page.
Blender
Blender is a very good free 3d modeling software. It's the best free 3d modeling program to use with RoR. Get Blender here. You also need to download and install Phyton from here. Get started with the Blender Tutorials.
3ds Max
3ds Max is a professional 3D modeling, animation and rendering package from Autodesk. You can use it to build and skin meshes for RoR. Get more information on 3ds Max here. You can export your meshes and materials using OgreMax Scene Exporter. There is also an old 3ds Max importer/exporter available which lets you import/export RoR-files in 3ds Max. You can also use this to build your node and beam structure.
AC3D
AC3D is a commercial 3d modeling program. You can get it here, plugins are available at AC3D Plugins.
Google SketchUp
Google Sketchup is a simple 3d modeling program originally made for architects. You can create meshes for RoR with it, but it is not recommended, see here and One Good Reason why SketchUp is Mediocre. Using stuff from the Google Warehouse is not allowed. Get Google SketchUp here.
Ogre XML Converter
Useful to convert Ogre Meshes from .mesh to .mesh.xml and vice versa. Windows download here: OgreXMLConverter034.zip. To convert, drop ONE file onto the converter in Windows explorer.

Texturing
Photoshop
You can use Photoshop to edit your skins. If you haven't heard of it, visit Adobe's website. You are able to lots of amazing things and make your RoR vehicle look as real and awesome as possible.
Paint.NET
Paint.NET is a free alternative to Photoshop. You can also edit your skins. Get it from the Paint.NET website. You don't need a plug-in to open .dds files in Paint.NET.
Gimp
Gimp is also a free alternative to Photoshop. It has got a lot of features. Get it from the Gimp website.
File editing
Editorizer
The Editorizer is a free program to modify the node and beam structure.
PSPad
PSPad is multi-lingual freeware text editor and developer tool for Microsoft Windows systems. PSPad ROR-settings offers custom syntax highlighter settings, format checker and live-preview with one click.
Notepad++
Notepad++ is another popular free notepad alternative. Notepad++ truck file color highlighting is available.
Node Renumbering Tool
Trevor has created a tool for changing the order of the nodes in a .truck file. More information and the program itself is on the forum.
Pastebin
RoR pastebin is a free service that allows for sharing of large pieces of text with syntax highlighting of the RoR truck format and other scripts/languages. It is located at http://pastebin.rigsofrods.com
RoRBeamFinder
This utility reads a given input file processes the gathered data and generates an output file. In this output file you will find all your previously placed comments in the correct place and the beams that connect to the given node numbers will be placed below the normal beams separated by a user given separator text. BeamOrganizer
Takes one input file at time, and generates output file. It organizes your beams section, to match the groups of the nodes section. You can set different beam defaults for every part easily. Forum link
