Purpose of the Guidelines

Signatures are a privilege, not a right.

They exist so you can have a little bit of customization, like your avatar and personal text.

However, unlike the avatar and personal text options, it's easy to abuse the signature system to create something that is very annoying to everyone else.

Thus, these guidelines were developed to ensure that you can still express yourself, but not at the expense of the annoyance of others.

This page exists as a subset of the Forum Guidelines page.

For banners, you are allowed to use Imageshack and other hosting services.

The Points System

You get 60 points to spend for your signature. Everything you add costs points. Here's the basic rules:

• You have 60 points to spend.

Lines of Text

• Each line of text costs 10 points. (NOTE: This includes blank lines!)
• No font size changes allowed, only the default size.
• The maximum width of a line is 80 characters visible text. (so hidden links do not count)

Images

• Each image has a cost based on its height, but in all cases cannot exceed 400 pixels in width.
• An image up to 100 pixels tall costs 60 points. (lower resolutions cost (height/100)*60)

Notes

If you want to use images, please use [img2]URL[/img2] instead of [img]URL[/img].

Forbidden Items

• Marquee text (text scrolling from one side to the other)
• font size changes
