Detachable nodes/beams

Note: The vehicle I will be using for this tutorial is the Bugatti Veyron 16.4, available from here: http://forumold.rigsofrods.com/index.php?topic=16861.msg182613#msg182613 Also, I will be using the older version of the RoR Editorizer, available here: http://www.trailbusters4x4.org/rorEditorSetup.zip

IMPORTANT: Back up your .truck file, just in case you make any mistakes!

1. First, open the .truck file with the Editorizer.

2. Now move the camera towards the beams that you want to be breakable.

3. Check the box that says 'Print Node Numbers'
Your window should now look something like this:

4. After zooming in, I've decided that the first beam I want to be breakable is the beam that joins node 37 and 182.

5. Now open the truck file in Notepad and Click Edit>Find, then type the two node numbers for your beam, like in this picture, separated by a comma and a space.

6. Now, press enter, which will make a space between the entry above the beam you're using, then type in 'set_beam_defaults' (Minus the quotes, with the _'s). You might want to look up set_beam_defaults in the wiki so that you know what I mean. For this car, I set the first 2 values as default, so I entered -1, -1. The next 2 entries I changed, but you don't have to make them like this.

7. After that, Save your .truck file. (Not save as, just save.) and open the Configurator. Click on advanced, the click 'Regen Cache', just to make sure RoR detects the changes.

8. Now open RoR and enjoy! This is my result after applying this to a few more beams:
