Default US Supreme court upholds Obama health care law

    http://content.usatoday.com/communit...1#.T-x_PBc6soo

Having an interest in politics and government, I find it interesting that the Supreme court passes off the mandate as a tax. I did not think that argument would fly. I guess this is what is to be expected when you have the justices appointed by the president and not chosen by an independent panel. I had a feeling the Democrats would uphold the law, but I did not foresee Chief Justice Roberts upholding the law in all its enteritis. I personally think the mandate should have been struck down, but oh well. It will be interesting to see how this law plays out when it is enacted in full.

All the people that sponge off the Government along with people that had hopes that Obama would make the country better. Not everyone who voted for him were idiots.

On my local news station they ran a story about a small family-run pharmacy who is going to have to spend an estimated $200,000 a year paying for their employee's heath care (plus their employee's children until age 26). They have 50 employees and are going to either eliminate positions or shut down for good.
Then they went to another medium sized company who is going to pay the fine because it is cheaper than paying for it's employee's care. A few employees were upset, but he explained to them he could either fire 25% of them and provide the remaining with obamacare, OR keep all of his employees and not provide healthcare.

It's just sad what this is doing to these poor companies and the impact it will have on our small communities who depend on the family-owned pharmacy who will either shut down or raise prices.
I was relieved to hear they aren't forcing obamacare down the throats of small company owners like my dad or I'd probably end up on the street!

Calling the fine a 'tax' is total bull IMO.
If you park in a no parking zone you pay a fine. If you park in a normal parking spot you don't. They are forcing you to park in legal parking places- a FINE.
When I go to the store, no matter what I buy, I pay sales TAX. A tax on everything in the store, regardless. I don't pay a higher tax if I don't buy foods the government recommends.
    See the difference?

    Just my $.02 on things.

I agree 100% Grayson. People fail to realize the impacts that it will have on small businesses. They can't afford to pay for their employee's health care, it would put them out if business.

On the tax issue, if this penalty is considered a tax, then where does it end? Couldn't the government penalize us for let's say not eating at a certain restaurant and just call it a tax? This opens the door to communism which millions of people died fighting to stop.

The individual mandate is what I hate. I think it is not right for someone to pay for healthcare or get fined if they dont have any.

I wouldn't want heath care right now. Im young and need the money. If I get in a wreak and my legs are crushed, then yes that's my problem.

The doctor shortage and waiting for treatment will increase, but not drastically like I think it will.

That's true with a lot of people, but not me. I don't dislike the law because it is being enacted by Obama (Remember, Romney had a similar plan in Mass.), I dislike it because of the mandate that forces people to buy the health care or get penalized and because a lot of it is going to cost this country a lot of money. We are already 15 trillion in debt and if this law gets fully enacted, we are going to have a whole lot more than that.
