    Default Mt. Shell [0.4 IN FIRST POST]

    This is the official thread. Post here what you think about it, pics and others

    Known problems with 0.4
    -Specular isn't fixed, it tends to reflect sun lights and make terrain plastic-looking.
    -GroundModel may not work, dunno why.

    It's not a map problem, but RoR's. It is fixed in the 0.39 tough. Just wait for the public release.

    Nasty. Very, very nasty. A wide, winding mountain road with lots of bad surprises and no guard railings. What else can you want?

    going up there in MAN TGA RHD got stuff 5 times lol and wrecker couldnt pull my 45 ton truck up hill ever lol love the map tho just very hard

    You should put load spawner there. Then it would be easier to spawn trailers and other things.

    Amazing terrain mate! I like how you added the road, so smooth and nice to drive on it. Would suggest quite less polys on the straights for better performance. Also the change won't be much noticable May I ask how you added the road? Did you make a procedural one in blender and then adding it repeatedly in ror toolkit? For my map, I make the whole of it in blender using tanget path and snapping the waypoints (vertices of the path) on the surface and export it as one mesh and object.

    The road is only 1 mesh. In blender i created only a segment, then i used a biezer curve, applied both array and curve modifier and voilà. For the rest http://www.rigsofrods.com/threads/86...aps-in-Blender

    I suggest making a version with the spawn at the top of the mountain, for easier crashing down the mountain.

    Very good map.

    I only have two suggestions:

    1. The sections where the road disappears involve a bit of dragging some cars past it. Mabey create a drive around?

    2. An ice mode where the road is covered in black ice and you get spawned at the top and have to drive down an ice covered road. And presumably fall of a cliff seconds after :P

    But that is it so well done, very fun in every car Ive tried.

    EDIT: Actually cant wait to take a Bugatti vayron around it
