    Hi,

    this is the discussion/support thread for the map mountain road.

    EDIT: If you want to remove the races, just delete the *.as files in the zip (back it up)

    It's an awesome map, but does it have to be completely meshed? I'd rather drive like a madman and crash every other turn then have to drive perfectly.

    looks good, noticed it is going to be updated with all the other maps because you can't currently open it... :P thanks for the Christmas Presents!


    EDIT, EDIT, EDIT: After the update, it still doesn't seem to work... anyone else? I really want to play these cool maps...

    Edit: It'll have to wait till tomorrow to large to download today.

    Nice "winter Alps" feeling to it.

    I like how it's 100% mesh terrain, and the terrain itself isn't contactable. That's convenient if the track is aimed at racing only (not crawling on the hills, etc). You did a really nice job with this one. I will try to "copy" this method to stir up something. Nice work. 5/5.

    Astonishing! And it is my kind of interest! A mesh terrain is more FPS friendly than a heightmap?

    apart the visual aspect the gameplay on this map is very lacky, RoRBot often fell under the mesh, and the groundmodel is very slippery. I crashed like after 50mts with the burnside race :P

    How can i remove the race? i want to just drive on this map. reminds me of the Cat & Fiddle road & thats great to drive on.

    I look at the wiki, and I think files for the race are those with the .terrn.as extension.

    DeGa, you map is superb, but I've noticed two things :
    - there is a flag in the mountain (sorry I have no screens of that)
    - flags animations give impression of a strong wind, is there a way to reduce this ?

    Just remove the angelscript(.as) file from the zip to remove the race.

    Removed the races, this is a great map for me, I love trucking around tight mountain roads!

    I'm getting 2 errors with this map. First error is Online API Result Invalid so i removed the angelscripts but i'm still not getting any ground textures. I'll post the 2 screen shots with both errors.

    Are you running the game in OpenGL? Because I got the same error in OpenGL, but in Direct3D it runs fine.

    Thanks for that you 2. I love the map but since the API or whatever is currently invalid i just want to drive trucks on it because its great to drive trucks on.

    DeGa, how many polies is the terrain mesh approximately? I want to make a mesh terrain with 8193x8193 polies, but I think 4097x4097 will do too (it's 20x20 km, that's why I want is so detailed). Will this kill the FPS? I am thinking of adding different LODs according to the view distance (when I learn how) so that it will be FPS friendly. Will that do?
