Do you not read. 26 cars have piled up on the Northbound carriageway M5. not a crappy BMW crash. they dont go fastenough to hurt anyone.

I thought people where taught if they can't see not to drive. pull over to the hard shoulder wack the hazards on & wait till they can see better. their was a bit saying headlights made no diference. RIP to those who have lost their lives tonight

Amid horrendous driving conditions, at least 20 cars and six heavy goods lorries were involved in the crash, near the exit to Junction 25, police said.

The crash, described as “more like a scene from Afghanistan”, left up to 40 people injured, 10 of whom were described as having “life changing” injuries

This was a horrendous crash which happened about 30 minutes from where I live.

According to reports and pictures there were two trucks which had jack-knifed at the front which caused other vehicles to pile up behind them.

A friend of mine was driving down the other side of the motorway when a large quantity of vehicles were engulfed in flames, he said that he could feel the heat from the fire ball without putting his windows down.

RIP to all those who have lost their lives. The motorway is a dangerous place. My thoughts are with all those affected by this terrible crash.

And my respect goes out to the emergency services which have dealt with this very quickly and professionally.

Top gear is about cars... Not motorways.

Yeah but they talk about "Going on the M5 Motorway," and stuff like that when they're driving cars.

Careless driving causing death or injury to others just takes one person.

    Are you serious?

BMW M5's came with always 6 cylinders or more (hell, nowadays they have V10s and bi-turbo V8s), and were some of BMW's top-of-the-line models (hence the ///M badging and tuning by BMW). These vehicles have excellent acceleration times, top speeds, and all-around performance. That is not the point though. You said, "they don't go fast enough to hurt anyone". A vehicle going 5 MPH can hurt someone, let alone 155+ on a BMW M5 (US versions are electronically-governed to 155MPH, like a lot of cars). Next time you try to criticize BMWs, or even any car, make sure you have some alibis and factual evidence, lol.

So they suspect that the crash was caused by someone watching a rugby clubs fire works . Many people say their was alot of smike drifting across the motorway too.

The fireworks had nothing to do with it. Someone involved in the crash even said that it wasn't black smoke it was very thick white fog.

Also the police have opened two lanes of the southbound carrigway, however, they are still investigating the crash. The road also needs to be redone as some vehicles got completely melted by the intense heat and the road itself is damaged. So they are trying to get the road resurfaced and open by rush hour tomorrow morning.

Death toll is at 7 and 50+ injured.

Smoke goes up anyway & why would it be black smoke. fire works dont burn oil as far as i know. I think most of britain was coverd in fog & a light dusting of gray smoke. Someone eather wasnt paying attention or hit a slower vehicle in the fog.
