It look very nice for first car!!![]()
Hi all I've played RoR for a while but never really tried to make a vehicle until now. I'm working on a Geo Tracker learning everything as I go. I've built a frame and suspension (3-link out back and a double wishbone up front... still playing with sliders to make a true McPherson strut) using the editorizer, given it realistic gearing and power, made a skin using Gimp to export to a .dds image, and created a partial basic submesh. It handles pretty much like I expected. My own Tracker is inspiration for this.
After rendering the roof and driver's side in game I realized that there has got to be an easier way to do this and am currently learning how to use Blender.
I'll post major progress as I go and release it at certain stages.

Thanks guys!
I think I've got the basic hang of Blender. I completely redid the frame and body and started on a new texture. I'm experimenting with a double wishbone suspension that approximates the travel of a McPherson strut with a much longer upper A-arm. It works pretty well but I definitely need to play with the beam defaults to tighten the truck up.
Wasted an hour trying to figure out what I did wrong when the texture didn't show up in game. Turns out I had an older file in a different directory that was taking preference over the updated one.
Anyone know what would cause me to be unable to enter the Tracker in-game? I can spawn in it but once I get out I can't get back in.
i'm not really an expert on putting stuff in-game, but it might be something with the .truck file

Before uploading to the Repository: Repository_Guidelines
It was the cinecam section. Getting in and out works fine now. Thanks!
glad you got it straightened out![]()
you gonna make it with 5 speeds? (like the manual versions)

I love these. Looks great for a submeshed car. Also if you backmesh at the end of every submesh section it will have a visible backface.
On hiatus for the foreseeable future. My take time to answer any pm's or emails.
I just discovered the game calculates the car's mass at 6.5 tons.. I think that's the issue. haha. Thanks fr the tip about the game's units being in newtons.
I got the truck submeshed and started on the interior when I did some reading on flexbodies... I'm going to try that out tomorrow.
very nice keep up the good work. Ive always wanted to make my own car for this game but ever since school came around i haven't had time. any ways keep up the great work from what i see it looks great!
Update..
Nearing completion of a mesh in Blender. Tomorrow I will take a break from modeling that and figure out how to attach it to the truck.
This will help.![]()
Thanks dude!
I uploaded the last version of my submeshed Tracker if anyone wants to play around with it... I didn't adjust the weight before uploading but I'll get around to it sometime.
