Yes i mean are there any tracks that arnt hill climbing, rock crawling or for proper off roaders. As in are there any off road tracks that do go up and down hills but arnt bumpy like a forest rally stage.

Edit: also are you going to do a snowy version and a rainy one (bearing in mind this is wales your talking about)

i think, that, rain and snow wrecks the realism if you like, of the game, i mean, rain coming straight through the car and no sound? its just wrong and it looks horrible too, so i dont think its such a good idea

I agree Audiman, I think you should just leave the snow and rain out.. Maybe when it gets better but right now the rain and stuff just isn't the most realistic thing.. When it does get better you can always just update and come out with a new pack with the snow and rain. Cheers!

well, if there was a rain version, for a rain sound, you could get a .wav of a storm and have that as the ambient sound, to at least create the illusion of a storm rolling through. I think it would add some more realism to rainy maps.

yeah but then you still have the problem of it coming through objects and the visual aspect too, i think i will leave it out this time

If you do put rain in the map, try the "precipitation_drizzle.png" texture with low intensity. Still looks like it's raining, but it's a lot less distracting than the default rain, even if it rains inside. Would be nice to get fog/haze working again. Rain doesn't look very convincing without it. I guess it hasn't worked since it was linked to the visibility range.

I suggest combining some of the alpha maps and maybe getting rid of surface types that aren't necessary. Less work to make the maps, and you'll get better performance. I think the number of layers has a big effect on FPS, so it should be optimized especially on a map like this with lots of objects too.

---------- Post added at 03:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:05 PM ----------

no im not doing alpha splatting, i got some cliffs right and it looks really nice, but everything else looks pretty bad, so im leaving it as it is because everything was right with the standard texture

---------- Post added at 03:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:33 PM ----------
