Thing is, that HDD of yours is probably worth more than everything else put together. I'll eventually get a SSD when the prices drop again.

Got a nice upgrade for my laptop recently.
Bought a DVD bay adapter since I didn't require the presence of a DVD drive any longer.
Inside that adapter sits an old WD1600BE which holds a handful of Steam games and other games that I can actually be bothered to play; or basically things that the laptop will handle without screaming bloody murder.
In the original HDD caddy is a used 64GB Crucial M4 which I got for cheap.
In the display department, I've replaced the original (and frankly ass-bustingly horrible) Chimei 1366x768 panel with an LG 1600x900 panel. Better resolution, better colours. Of course; performance worsens due to the more demanding resolution, but since this laptop is used mostly for work, I really liked the extra onscreen estate.
Cooling has also been upgraded - I've replaced the stock heatsink which comprises Copper pipes and thin aluminium fins, with one that's fully Copper. Both Copper pipes and fins. Makes the laptop weight quite a bit more, but the better cooling is totally worth it.
Finally got the RAM upgrade I've been waiting for - a pair of 1333MHz 4GB Crucials were a huge upgrade from the 2x2GB sticks that came with the laptop.
Also bought foam pads and fixed the problem with my floppy/flimsy-feeling keyboard.
Next modification will be a better battery. Maybe an 8-cell extended battery over the current 6-cell, 4400mAh one I've got.

I have an empty case.
Though here's the list of what I'm probably getting (I might change or add some things like an SSD and other smaller/cheaper stuff)

@Dennis-W \ You should get a coolermaster V8 because it's cheaper than the Corsair and cools way better.
