How does that not flip over? Looks like it can tip over easily.

Okay finally time to work on this project again, tried a test lift today of 10 tons. Couldn't bring it further than this. AIN_002 told me that this crane needs outriggers but i'm not sure of that yet. Do you guys think that it needs some outriggers?

    hi craneman
i think for more stability it should have like 4 outrigers folding out and extedning and automatically leveling on uneven ground
like the other rt crane ( i know this is not an rt crane :|) OR just widen the track with :P

I think outriggers will give this crane some more stability, but it also depends on how strong the boom is. Outriggers are useless if the boom breaks.
If you read this signature, you are dumb. =P

And a general rule when constructing cranes is that the crane is supposed to tip and not break if it's overloaded. Except in extreme cases or if the crane is fastened in the ground.
Please DON'T ask me to help you with projects or do anything for you. I've taken a little pause and I don't actually make things for others either.

keeping the base level is of great impotance as any balance between boom and ballast will constantly change making the crane unuseable so for me its a leveling mechanism the rest is down to ballast and loading.
