    Hello
    I'm a total newbie though I've been working a while on this. It may have issues that I don't know yet, anybody who'd want to check can (edit : ) download the zip file on post #81 of this thread

    This terrain is supposed to mimic the actual Pralognan-la-Vanoise, France, and the surrounding mountains.
    It is based on the existing contour lines of the area map (every 50 meters) but somehow soften to be more "drivable" than real.
    Still it could be a challenge to get to the glacier with something else than the Baja buggy !
    I hope you enjoy the view from the top and I apologise for the low fps you might experience if it's too heavy.

    Works ok (60 to 100fps) on my laptop (cpu T7200 2GHz, Ram 2Go, Nvidia GeForce 7600 256Mo. windows XP SP2) with these settings :
    1024X768 FULL SCREEN (and 36.2 version of ror!)
    SANDSTORM
    (NO WATER)
    texture filtering ANISOTROPIC
    no particle is needed as there is no dust on snow
    but you may want to downgrade if it's already too much. (some cannot load the buggy on this)

    Gonna test it right now but it already looks really really good in the vid, hats off!
    I may be able to help you if you want to include detailled textures or accurate groundmodels (sinking in the snow,...) - just PM me if you have questions.

    Hi
    At the start you normally find au Dodge Cummins next to you by the road in the forest. If not, wouldn't it be a bug due to something missing on your hard drive ?
    For MP, I never tried it yet, and know almost nothing about it.
    I tried the terrain on my brother's computer on whitch I had to install the game. I started from nothing then. It worked fine.
    The terrn file should be examined to find what is wrong, maybe edit some lines in it, like the starting position perhaps.
    The truckshop should be at this position more less :
    1899.67, 35.3342, 1959.56
    Maybe senior members would have an advice about this.
    There MUST be issues as it's my first terrain and I don't know all. Moreover, it should be said that it is "in developpement"

    Sorry for any inconvenience.
    Anyone have good experience with it ?

    beautiful map, i'll try it out once it finishes downloading. Has to be one of the biggest files I download for RoR except the game itself.

    edit: I love this map. I have an out of date laptop and I get around 20FPS which is excellent for a big terrain like this.
    So much to explore and do

    Hope to see many creations from you.

    No luck, no Cummins, no truckshop. Here is a pic of where I spawn.

    I had no problem about the dodge. Just appearing on the map, I pressed ENTER key and then "i" to start engine

    good map, meshes and features, congratulations. you were so busy

    I only miss a detail: the "monorail" could had a "forwardcommands" word, so meanwhile you are on the dodge you could control monorail door.

    well, I have a standard installation. The only thing required is that your standard dodge from Box5 works properly.

    If you have some mods with that car, maybe that the original one doesn't work. Anyways, you only need to open .terrn file, search for "6ef84UID-1stgen1.truck" (without doubles quotes) and replace by your own desire car, save and add again to the PRALO.ZIP

    Hi Diesel, feel sorry you're stuck in the middle of the forest. Can you try to edit the terrn file and input the coordinates I mentioned earlier in place of those defining the character position at start ? This way, you should start standing just in front of a truckshop.

    To others : any problem finding the other truckshops ? 4 of them in the terrain ( and a plane shop too )
    You should find another Cummins in the lobby of the grand hotel and one at the end of the "Prioux" valley (spot the signposts)
