Post Sikorsky Skycrane CH-54 ***BETA-0-6 attached in post #1***

    Sikorsky Skycrane CH-54

    First public beta test

SInce i am quite done with the technical part of this helicopter, except a better loading system, i would like to get feedback on this before i finish all the mesh and texture work.

Please note..this is not trimmed well yet due to the fact, that any technical changes needs to change the trim too, which i just pass most of the times since the heli has built in trims.
Just refer to the t-screen for all info you need, there are coarse trims and fine hover trims for collective lift, roll and pitch and a generic fine trim for pivot.

    Known bugs:
Right now its a bit overweighted due to much stuff i added, will see if i can fix that later. And it spawns deforming some beams in the cockpit area..which will be fixed hopefully later too.
Some materials aremissing so parts of the suspension and wheels appear white.
Service ceiling is still too high.

You need the experimental version of RoR 0.37.xx supporting slidenodes, wing coefs and animators/animated props for this one

    How to fly:

    1. Enter the helicopter, c to go into the cockpit and get rid of the avionic hud overlay by pressing u or ctrl-u
    2. Both engines on ( ctrl pos1 )
    3. Slowly increase the throttle to 75%, wait for the engines go green and the rotorhead rpm warning vanish
Helicopter might shake a bit whiole reving up, this is the tranmisssion to the rear rotor which is still a bit whoppy in some rev ranges

Use collective lift to control climb descend (F1/F2) it has a precision trim too with ctrl + command key for hover action
Use the trims or the fine trims to get the hover not sliding away ( F3-F6 and ctrl F3-ctrl F6)
When you got it hover stable and it still pivots, use the pivot trim
If you got a stick..forget the trimming and just use it when needed

Really love this heli. Easy to control even in a emergency situation like engines cutting out

    wow. nice work lifter.
i found it easy to control and manually hover, the top speed i got was easy to reach.
i crashed after i stalled the rotor, i tried a stunt turn and she dropped out of the sky,
it would probably happen in real life too.
maybe you should post your other helicopter as well.

the engine rpm gauge's needle is unstable and shakes about 2" while over speed.

Something in the heli broke (2 broken bemas) , can you attach your ror log here so i can fix it ?

Please use this in your ror config:

    Beam Break Debug=No

    needs to be changed to

    Beam Break Debug=Yes

Best way to edit manually with an editor, dont forget to save your cfg file.
It can be found in mycomputer/.../rigs

Looks like a major material bug. Which version are you using...could be related to the problems with the last caelum update. RoR log pls.

Why cant you get the cfg file ?

Look into mycomp/.../rigsofrods/config and edit the ror.cfg file as mentioned above.
THen search in mycomp/.../rigsofrods/logs for the ror.log file and look for lines containing xxx. I need this 2 lines because it does not brake here and for most of the people.
And i need to know which map you tested on.

F9/F10 is hhok operation, and it fetures a rope/tie too...so you just need to get close to the desired hook, press o, wait for the tie to pull your hook to the external ropable and then press l to lock and o again to release the tie. Need to add a comment in the t-screen for this.
