Sikorsky Skycrane CH-54
First public beta test
SInce i am quite done with the technical part of this helicopter, except a better loading system, i would like to get feedback on this before i finish all the mesh and texture work.
Please note..this is not trimmed well yet due to the fact, that any technical changes needs to change the trim too, which i just pass most of the times since the heli has built in trims.
Just refer to the t-screen for all info you need, there are coarse trims and fine hover trims for collective lift, roll and pitch and a generic fine trim for pivot.
Known bugs:
Right now its a bit overweighted due to much stuff i added, will see if i can fix that later. And it spawns deforming some beams in the cockpit area..which will be fixed hopefully later too.
Some materials aremissing so parts of the suspension and wheels appear white.
Service ceiling is still too high.
You need the experimental version of RoR 0.37.xx supporting slidenodes, wing coefs and animators/animated props for this one
How to fly:
1. Enter the helicopter, c to go into the cockpit and get rid of the avionic hud overlay by pressing u or ctrl-u
2. Both engines on ( ctrl pos1 )
3. Slowly increase the throttle to 75%, wait for the engines go green and the rotorhead rpm warning vanish
Helicopter might shake a bit whiole reving up, this is the tranmisssion to the rear rotor which is still a bit whoppy in some rev ranges
Use collective lift to control climb descend (F1/F2) it has a precision trim too with ctrl + command key for hover action
Use the trims or the fine trims to get the hover not sliding away ( F3-F6 and ctrl F3-ctrl F6)
When you got it hover stable and it still pivots, use the pivot trim
If you got a stick..forget the trimming and just use it when needed
