Dont know if itll ever make it to RoR but im trying to get the feel of a Swedish road, all textures are tests and the enviroment is sooo far from finished, my goal is for example to make the forest feel as dense as they really are, without oto much of a FPS loss

What about placing 2 or 3 lines of trees and have a vertical "billboard" behind them with a kind of forest poster on it?

Some 3d trees in front of 2d billboard forests can work well. As long as you don't get too close, or above it, which breaks the illusion.

Most maps in Ror are for crawlers and not so good for long trailers with low clearence.
So this will be great. =)

    True ^^
RoR is getting a crawler and mudding comunity xD
But well, there are great maps for trucking.
Greece is awesome to drive the trucks on, at least european trucks.
I like it, canyon roads, hairneedle turns and all this stuff.

    But we're getting off-topic!
    Sorry for that!
I don't have any progress for now, just a crappy ingame test ^^
Now a friend will fix the lights for me, and then some re-sizing and then the meshes are ready ^^

98% done. Just want to do some caelum adjustments and make a mini image.
Looks good? Recolored the trees and grass and added added some seating to the neglected oval track. Not much of a mod, but it's a mod Have permission from Skip78 since im modding his mod. Did a lot of work on the horizon. Made it look like fall colors and added a hazy / cloudy top to blend into the Caelum overcast
    Then release to the repo.

Because you have too much freedom in RoR - can you tell one commercial good looking game that has free camera? When looking in details, and a bit away from the main track, games like gran turismo or dirt show real bad artefacts as well. Just that basically, everything is designed for you not to see this stuff...
That being said, that kind of combination is really great - Miura, that's quite a big improvement I think. Maybe the billboards could show for a longer distance, so that there are things looking like trees in the background mountains as well... If it doesn't kill FPS of course.

Brickman, is there any possible way for the sun to be a little brighter, like a light flare? I have been trying to find out how I can add it.

I think you can make the sun brighter, but there is no sun flare though

thats what i tried on my brutal valley map, i have really dense trees beside all the tracks and roads, then it gets less dense the further away you go, it give the illusion of a very dense forest but without the huge impact on fps.
