Well, managed to bring my 5850 back to life. Flashed a new bios on it in DOS. And just recently bought an H100 to replace the crap intel cooler. Should arrive today. Or monday.

Well, my motherboard died. I had issues with it before but thought nothing of it. Now to be out of a PC for a month.. 2 weeks for them to process and get me a new motherboard is bonkers. And ontop of that I called customer service and most of them don't try to help, and the other 1/2 of them are retarded. Oh fun.
Good tools cost money, cheap tools cost more.
I have my trusty PC at my dad cause it got f-ed up.
Its a Win XP machine that would eat Windows 7 like ice cream.
It has a ASUS board with a LGA 755 CPU Socket (Core2Duo E7500 (for noobs: 2.93 GHz x2)), VTX Radeon HD 5450 With one gig of vRam! And 4 gigs of ram. 1320 GB of HDD Space.
A trojan got in and killed it. The TB HDD wouldnt boot or install Windows, while my 320 GB was fine. So I installed it on it. Now just have to figure out how to get the sound driver working. Until then im on my Acer laptop (T6670,5470,2GB,250GB,Win7Ult). Which plays RoR at 25 FPS when im on Desert Trails with a Hilux![]()
My friend got his new laptop, a Dell Inspiron 15R with an Intel Core i3 @ 2.4GHz, Intel HD 3000 graphics, and some stuff that came with it like beats headphones, external harddrive, stuff like that. I'm gonna get his 1720 sometime soon.
AMD Athlon II X4 645 @ 3.1GHz/ ATi Radeon HD R7750/ 6GB of RAM
I just got a new external hard drive as a early birthday gift (my birthday is the 26th of August)
It's a LaCie Rikiki 500 gb usb 3.0, it looks really good, has a black wood finish to itThough I had some trouble with it, got it fixed later by removing all the partitions on it and make a new one so I can use it.
It's very small and practical too.
First pic was taken by me.

I've always had problems with the board but never thought anything of it. I don't have any diagnostic lights, which stinks. Just an LED that's green and blinks when it gets power. Reading around some people had the same issue. No beeps because when I connect the 2 pins for the power switch it does absolutely nothing. I'm getting a cheap mATX board that I'll just use as a backup or sell later. I'm at a time right now that I absolutely need my PC.
My computer died this weekend too, the power connector on the motherboard came off.

Just finished cleaning my computer out and reconfiguring the airflow and cable management. Took about 3 hours to remove everything apart from mobo, clean it by hand and then replace everything and redo cable management. This time I set up the fans in a neutral-negative configuration (2x intake in front, 2x exhaust rear + top, PSU fan at bottom) I only really turned over the PSU because a fan grille looks better than a sticker. :P It turned out to make cable management much easier as it made the 24pin shorter and the PCIe longer. Other changes include removing the ODD as I never use it and it makes wiring harder, and moving the SSD and HDD to the normal HDD cage. Temperatures have taken a drop of about 2-3 degrees, I don't know if it is because of the reconfigured airflow or the fact that the dust has been removed. :P

ok i have a question which would be better for ror im thinkin of replacing my p4 with either a quad core amd a6 or a quad core amd a8 machine ive seen alot of good machines with both not sure if i wanna spend more for the a8 tho
computer specs: dell optiplex GX270 pentium 4 2.40 ghz hyperthreaded 2 gigs of DDR ram, intel onboard graphics 96 megabytes
All the A6 CPUs I can find are triple core CPUs. Since RoR would only use 2 cores it would probably be better with going for the A6 than spending the extra money on an A8. If you are thinking of running a dedicated graphics card, then you would be better off with a Sandy-Bridge based Intel Celeron or Pentium CPU as they have more CPU performance than than a similarly priced A-Series APU but lack the graphics horsepower of the APU.

i get about 100FPS+ in most places and often 200+ sometimes 60 and sometimes as low as 16 when there is a glitch...VERY SATISFIED WITH MY BUILD
might upgrade to GTX680 next year (or next sires if it is out by that time)
Painted the interior of my HAF 912 black, and painted the pci brackets and front mesh white. Opinions/ideas for what else I should do? Lot's of time to do some work to her as my i5 is currently being RMA'd.. Bought some 12mm Scythe fans and I should just be able to squeeze a push/pull setup with my H100 in there as well![]()

I FINALLY bought my friend's laptop today (about time). Red Dell Inspiron 1720. Will post pics once I take and upload them, but for now, the specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2GHz
NVidia GeFore 8400 GO graphics
3GB of RAM
No gaming comp, but it does the job just fine. I also have to deal with Vista (32 Bit Home Premium) as XP will not install. Like I said, my friend had no trouble out of Vista so I'm hoping I'll be fine.

I hear bitfenix makes some nice led strips, I should try a few out. CPU seems to have just out and died on me. One day I come to turn it on, wouldn't even POST. Cleared the cmos, checked the pins, all the wires. Nothing. Couldn't have overheated, h100 was whooping some butt. Mailing it out to intel this monday, and should have a new one in 3-5 days from when they receive it they said.
