Got my Intel 330 Maple Crest SSD in last night.
Boots Windows in about 14 seconds, shuts down in about 3. File movement is more than exceptional, I installed Windows in 5-10 minutes unlike the 30-45 minutes with my HDD's. Finally got my files moved over and I completely wiped my HDD to be absolutely nothing but game videos.
Pure win. Would recommend to anyone, got it on sale at Newegg for $129.00 USD. Quite nice when you don't have to wait for the HDD to "warm up" so to speak after booting Windows, I can fully boot and once I get to my desktop I can open any program I want and it's instant.

I have some kind of computer. Nvidia GeForce card I think, 1.36 terrabyte drive and a 1980x1020 monitor.

I honestly don't know much about this stuff.

My windows install on my SSD took about an hour since I'm using a 9 year old IDE DVD drive :P

I was at first like, "Yep, gotta find something to do for 50 minutes." Until I come back about 10 minutes later and it's booted to Windows user setup for your drive name. I was then OMGWTFBBQROFL WUT? :S

Thinking about getting a bigger HDD. I have a WD 320GB and it is a little over half full.

Newegg has this WD black 500GB for $79.99 after promo code. Ends today too. Im back and forth on if I should get it.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136795

I paid $50 for my 320GB and now it is 69.99.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136770

    $79.99 for 500gb - $50 for 320gb = $29.99 for 180 more gigabytes. Good deal?

Edit: Went ahead and bought it. Forgot I had my $20 gift card from purchasing a graphics card. So it came out to $59.99 for a 500GB black edition HDD

I cringed at almost every word in that sentence. First, Crossfire is an ATi/AMD technology. Second, I am 99.99% certain that you cannot SLI with another card with a different GPU, never mind a card in a different series. And finally, memory doesn't add in SLI/CFX setups as the cards need to store the same textures so they can render them.

Haha, funny. I boot easily in 15 seconds and have Skype, Origin, Steam and MSN open. And let's do a speed test copy and pasting 10 GB from your Program Files to your desktop. Takes about 30 seconds for me IIRC, have to check that.

It's a huge improvement with no argument to be made against it. I will never buy a laptop with a hdd in it or build a machine with a hdd as a boot device ever again.

40 seconds isn't bad with mine :P It would cost $1,000 for a 500GB SSD. I'll wait a couple years lol.

    $719 for this 512gb Samsung

I agree with Brickman I would rather wait couple years for the dollar per GB to drop. Then I would get one. My boot ups are not bad as it is it like 60 seconds launching skype, msn, steam and origin with my 10000 rpm 500 gb boot hdd. All my games and such are on my 3 TB 7200 rpm hdd.

Hey i need your opinion on this laptop i just bought, the price was so good i couldn't pass it up. The reason i went with a Toshiba Satellite is because the one i had prior worked great for about 5 years. I've had this one for about 3 days and i love it. This laptop is not for gaming, its for surfing the web watching youtube and stuff like that. I thought the specs where pretty good on it. I would love some other opinions.

Sorry, that was not me in that post, I got home way after that, and the HWVS shipment isn't even arriving this week.

I have a big problem with my Acer Aspire laptop,When i try to boot it up it get to the screen that says Acer but then it will go to a black screen and hold there for about 10 seconds then restarts.I have no clue what is going on with it.I'll most likely replace the current 320GB 5400RPM HDD with a 500GB 7200RPM HDD and load windows XP Home Edition on it

So I see you haven't heard of Intel.

And do you guys think my Corsair TX750 could run 2 7870's in Crossfire? I know it can run 2 7850's in Crossfire, but I found a sweet deal on a Gigabyte card. Either way works though.

The HD 7870 is rated at about 175W. Take two of them and they'll need 350W which is still much less than the 750W your PSU can provide, so you should be able to run a pair of 7870s without a problem.

    You can't be serious.

I'd say probably. A 7870 uses a little more power than a 6870, and I run dual 6870s on a 750W PSU fine, so it might be a stretch or it might just be OK. On a slightly different topic, from now I'm sticking with single GPU configs for upgrades unless I use liquid cooling...

Thanks for the replies. Time to order atleast 1 of my 7870's. I'm selling my 6950, if anyone wants it and are from United States then say so within about 6 hours or so I'd say, just PM me. I'm going to ask about $200 for it, since I paid $250 for it, it's not even 2 months old, and I've never had it go above 65C (I'm a true stickler about keeping my temps down). Payment via PayPal. (I will ship to Canada as long as you feel like paying $30-$50 shipping.)
