    Post Bus Terminal

    Hello everyone.
    I've started to work on a bus terminal. The model is done, I only need to place the terminal and some roads in St Helens. Should be released by tonigh, IF (and only IF) I can get my Ror Toolkit to work.

    When I am near Busdepot fps slowdown just for 5 seconds ::|:, I can drive inside, fps inside it is enough to play but i realize that all complex building shouldn't be done in Sketch Up, this will kill RoR

    I don't want to start a war into Sketch Up Vs blender, etc. I'm just saying what I have seen.

    Anyway, I'm greetings Pedro because it is obvious the time he spend on this model and this, should be acknowledged.

    Actually one of the reasons I use Sketchup is because it's easy and it already comes with some textures.
    While in blender it would take at least a day or two to make this, I made this in 3 hours. Personally, I don't get any hit in FPS at all. sure, sometimes it slows down 4 fps during 3 secs, but then it runs smoothly again.

    This is of course my oppinion, and, like Lepes, I don't want to start another Sketchup vs. All the other modelling tools war here.

    Have you created a special collision mesh or do you use the same mesh as the colored visible model?
    I don't think the sketchup models cause a very hard slowdown, though they do have a lot of polys
    and materials. If the same amount of polys is used for the collision mesh where simple boxes would do it
    I can understand that there is a slowdown since collisions require much more (CPU, not only GPU) calculation
    than a only visual mesh.

    Great work! The only things i made in sketchup were those ret*rded ramps and pipes! Btw do you have the sketchup 6 installer left? Because i can only find sketchup 7 and the exporter doesn't work for it....

    I might remake it sometime though in AC3D.
