I've had the same problem, cannot change individual beam diameters.
As I've received some questions about the truck in my profile, and since it slowly forms into something recognizeable, I think it's about time that I move it to the showroom - mainly because the axle & suspension help thread I started earlier is too specific for any other of my questions (maybe) yet to follow…
So here's my first official release ever - have fun (and if someone gets the suspension to work 'more properly', please teach me how you've done it (as it just doesn't seem to work correcly).
Oh yeah, no help graphic yet: use F3/4 to lower/raise the 'tipper' and F5/6 to open/close the back board (which is not completely closed at initialisation)

[Edit:] If I understood the .truck file wiki right, I should be able to set different parameters for different beams, using the set_beams_default command, so basically it should work like this:
so, basically, that does as stated in the wiki, but it does not work with the beam diameter parameter - I wanted the truck to be built of standard beams and the exhaust beams to be black (that works) and thicker than the standard beams (which doesn't work - if I change the diameter here, all beams become thicker…Code:beams set_beam_defaults (arguments) 1,2 3,4 … set_beam_defaults (other arguments) 12,13 14,15
Am I doing sth. wrong here, or can't the beams have different diameters?
I've had the same problem, cannot change individual beam diameters.
Citroen CX Loadrunner, Ror should have a real seaplane.
suggestion: Why not put the exhaust section to the bottom of the beams section, therefore this could hopefully not effect the rest of the beams. Give it a go![]()
It still changes all the beams diameter.
You know the beams are square when you get close? And they can't be locked, they're free to revolve around their axis.

@admoninternet: I did exactly that, but it didn't work (as already pointed out in the meantime)
@steve: yeah, I know - but I didn't think of it… it probably won't look too good, if the exhaust spins around like mad. Seems like I have to try my hand on modelling props as the next step (or just leave it like it is now…).
sorry for double post, but it's been a long time since the last one, so I think it would be okay (if not - feel free to merge the threads)
I had a 'light' weekend (*cough* bad pun, I know), so I did a little update on my unimog, too…
DL available in the attachment - just copy the .zip to the packs directory… (I'm still not feeling like releasing it to the repo, due to the skin)
great look
i will try it out soon
I just tried it. It's a really great truck, really cute, I think it's my current favourite.

Nice Unimog, the only tihng i want to say is that unimogs do not have double wheels on the rear axle.
I'm working on an Unimog myself, the U400 (newer type), inspired by your one.
Your skin is not too bad, only the front part doesn't look like the real one.

and i must say that your wrong many unimogs have twin rears its just some have super singels
that's what I thought (no, not the facts thing - more that I've seen some Unimogs with twin rear wheels…)Originally Posted by ROZ
just as a source of inspiration I have hunted the net for a picture of a danish Unimog, and as the most common use of these vehicles is at the danish Falck (combined fire, ambulance and rescue service) as a heavy rescue vehicle.
These babies, as they are compared to some of the bigger rescue-vehicles in the Falck fleet is designed only to weight 500 kg on each wheel, this means that with the large tireprint, it presses less on the ground than a man standing besides it.
I have been helped by Unimogs several times, as I was driving foodstuff to farmers, I have experienced a small Unimog like the one in the picture, haul a 32 ton truck bogged down to the axle on the rear free, with nothing else to grab on to than a compacted gravel road.
I would be happy to answer any questions about this for future mods of this wonderfull Baby.
I have driven an real Unimog myself and it had single rear wheels, like the ones i know from our puplic worksOriginally Posted by ROZ

I didn't want to offend anyone here, but i've never seen one with twin rear wheels
Perhaps someone can post a photo?

I'd like to settle the argument. I have at least two books containing Unimogs. I have definately seen a photo of a Unimog with twin tires on the rear. It was an ex-military vehicle, working in the desert painted mil-beige. The rear tires were much smaller than the fronts and had a plain dropside body, and portal axles.
In my unimog specific book it also has a Unimog where the front can detach and drive on small extra wheels. Another hinges in the middle giving extra articulation.

This is a great little truck. I love it!
Definitely not going to win speed trials in the truck breaker course in North St. Helens, but mostly because he keeps landing so far tilted forward that he flips end-over-the-cab. But that's hardly what this truck is designed for, so don't take it as a complaint - I was actually impressed at how well he did.
And now for all those little jobs that you don't need a huge truck for, this is perfect.
I wish there was a trailed hitch to pull the traffic control trailer, but it just means I have to drive two trucks out to do road repairs... ;-) (Besides, that's safer for the workers - like I see street sweepers in real life being followed by a big dump truck with a device attached on the back that absorbs car impacts - for the safety of the working crews...)
Yeah, it still has some suspension problems (I don't think the suspension does anything at all right now…)Originally Posted by Isaac.Eiland-Hall
relly its a toss up between agroculturel unimogs and industrel ones most ag models dident need twin rears because they were to be used for light clutivation and trailer duties were as industrel spec unimogs had duels or super singels on to allow the machine to carry more
In case that sounded like criticism, it wasn't intended as such - you still have this marked WIP, and even if you were done with it, I think it's a great and fun truck as is - so any tweaking is just even more icing on the cake. ;-)Originally Posted by dergerch
