You need RoR version 0.38 or later version for this map to work properly. Don’t come crying because the map is slow and/or your vehicle doesn’t contact the roads. You need 0.38 or later.

The port, quarry, and rockton city / bus station spawn areas do not have trees for better FPS, delete the trees at the end of the other .terrn file if you want.
Port and airport only have the oilrig mesh enabled on the terrain. To see it on the other maps, just delete the // in front of the opocoilrig. It is contactable, but rorbot goes right through the oilrig.
A large mod of Lennis Opmap, which is now called Rockton county. It is a terrain that is about the size of the North St.Helens map. This terrain has almost everything that makes for a very fun map. A terrain with flat areas, farm land, hills, a small river/stream, a large quarry, off road trails, forest, port, neighborhoods, airport, a town called Rockton and Lakeville, industrial area, two schools, and much more that will make this terrain fun for a long time. Also it no longer conflicts with Lennis Opmap.

DESCRIPTION
1.5km x 1.5km.
The terrain is set in rural Greece and includes farmland, villages, forests and mountains. There is a long network of dirt and asphalt roads which run throughout the terrain and the various areas of the map complete with signs. An FPS version with reduced vegetation density and distances for use with slower computers is also included which gives a significant increase in performance.
INSTALLATION
1. Copy .zip and paste it into your RoR terrain folder (such as "C:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsRigs of Rods 0.38terrains" (Windows 7) 2. Open the .zip and then go to a folder called "+++ Impostors +++", inside you will find a bunch of png files; copy these to wherever RoR stores imposters (default is the root directory - where the ror.exe is).
3. Run RoR and drive

I give permission for anyone to use the objects, textures, sounds and anything else created by me in this .zip for free Rigs of Rods projects provided I, LJFHutch, am credited with their creation. The interesting part of this map is that is an urban map, but not a flat map.. Anyway it have a long highway around the map, an offroad course, houses, fire department, so everything that an urban map need.

Starling Island is an island map for Rigs of Rods (tested with v0.38.67), tuned for roleplaying. The map features:

Welcome in Pralognan La Vanoise.
This map is somehow a replica of the actual town in the Alps. It provides travellers with accommodation, transport, all for comfort and fun. The Hotel will be the perfect starting point for rides in the mountains, taking the Telepherique or just climbing the steep hills with any off-road vehicle. The boldest drivers will manage to the glacier at all costs (several truck shops can be found here and there) whereas those just eager to have a nice look at our sea of ice will take the plane.
There is a ground model with different kinds of ground (snow, rock, mud, ice...), a paged geometry forest of (natural) pines, a customized Caelum sky and snowy weather can be observed in some cases. So make sure you have 100% vegetation and Caelum engaged in the configurator. No other settings are required and as the map is fitted with very large textures it wouldn't be advised to turn more option because FPS might be critical. A FPS friendly version will be provided separately.

I have decided to release MitCity officially, since I won't do any more work on it, I find it a bit of a waste to just "cancel" MitCity after how far it's come, so now, go enjoy the Final Release of MitCity! it will work in RoR 0.38, just some of the objects won't be collidable. in 0.39 everything is collidable.
The Map has countless elements suitable for roleplay, it has a fire station, a hospital, an impound lot, repairshop, car dealer, airport (non working) gas stations, variaty of houses from flats to villas. it even has a test centre for cars, test the suspension there, or do a full spec crashtest. the possibilities are endless!

The gravity is about a third of Earth's, so you'll have to use special Mars vehicles that you'll find there http://www.rigsofrods.com/repository/view/4881 . You really must download that vehicle file because the map will have problem loading if Ror cannot find the trucks.
There is no vegetation on the planet (yet) but set your configuration to 100% vegetation as fields of boulders and rocks use this feature.
Please use Caelum and anisotropic filtering.
The map is very large. There may be some issues due to its size and the way a lot of objects are displayed. No other feature of the configurator than those aforementioned really has to be set on (lights, particles, shadow, etc), so don't push the system, try to find the lowest settings instead if you have problems. For instance you may have to have Ror play on one core instead of two, if you have problems with a shaking camera. Beta-testers reported an impossibility to load the map, a group missing. Try again, it will most likely work the second time. Other issues were reported, so check the Miniredmars WIP thread for information.MINIREDMARS

This is a low grade Miniredmars map, not quite a FPS version, but easier to handle by slow computers. There s no groundmodel on it so the default groundmodel will apply. Due to low gravity, this default groundmodel might be irrelevant (vehicles gliding too long), so please check this MINIREDMARS to change the default groundmodel.
This is Tuanga Challenge Death Road Style Terrain. A remote village called Tuanga is in need of supplies for the winter ahead, only problem is, its 14000ft above sea level, and the nearest depo is next to the sea, (how convenient). Your challenge or mission whatever you want to call it, is to deliver the supplies safely, and quickly to the village, of course, You'll need to own a truck first. Deliver whatever you think they need, whether it be food or a new log cabin.
With 14km of terrifying cliff edge road, facing 5000ft drops and extreamly rough roads, Ice patches and hairpin switchbacks, Tuanga is sure to be your toughest challenge to date!

Yet another version of the Flatmap terrain. This time it is a mod of DNEs flatmap with his roads. (So I can have something to start with to mod the map).
This is Flatsville county. A small county with about a population of 1000. Low taxes make this a good place to start a business. All kinds of jobs are available here from a bus driver, truck driver, lawyer, farmer, teacher, pilot, crane operators and so much more.
Known bugs: Some buildings have no collision like the logging mill, your tires will get stuck in the middle of the police parking lot, and some lag when you look across the map.
There are multiple places you can spawn at.( change the spawning place by changing the .terrn file.
Construction yard, airport, race track, and town.

this is the first terrain that i have made for rigs of rods, some of you have the beta versions, seems to be no more bugs but i could be wrong
,the terrain was just for me to learn on but it kept growing into what it is now.
there's a few hill climbs, some smooth high speed dirt roads and some off road trails, if you like speed, rock bouncing or just exploring, this is a pretty big terrain.

this map is to bring on all dragsters and speed freaks, with RoR's longest straights you will max out anything RoR has ever produced, it has a 20 mile marathon straight, 5 mile, 1 mile, half a mile, and a quarter mile.
Mud, mud and mud. Five different types of them, a really detailled terrains with ruts, mudpits and everything.
Everything in a field, so it's rather small.

A rally map, quite beta stage - but I thought you'd prefer it lies here rather than on my hard drive.
There's a long special stage all over the map, as a meshed road, so pretty smooth.

It's the first map I ever made, it was originally for 1nsane. It has been converted to RoR with great success, in terms of details, height resolution, vegetation, mud and rocks. There are plenty of things to be done there. Each part is designed for you to have fun. It's mainly good for offroad.

This is The highest map ever in RoR, @10000 meters you will be rolling for 10 mins or try to brave it out, so far the only thing that has made it down to the bottom in one piece is my modded box5 trophy truck, do you fancy a challenge?
the spawn point is way at the top, it is possible to drive up it, but you need raw power and raw grip.
overall its very fun, reach new speeds of 500mph, i reached 464mph

I thought it would be better to upload it instead of it getting lost on my HD,
it isn't finished, but I don't feel like working anymore on it.
There are some houses and some very long roads around a big quarry,
quite good for driving big trucks.
If you want to put some villages or industrial buildings there feel free to do so,
just give credits if you re-release the map.
The houses are made by Betzi, ask him if you may use them in other projects,
the other included objects are by Lenni, they may be used on other maps if credits are given.
There is also a train track, it is experimental and worked in 0.35 with the class 58 by tommylommykins and Miura,
I don't know if the map works in 0.35 anymore and where to get the train or if it works at all, so don't complain about that please.
The big brown area under the big bridge is supposed to be a forest, maybe someone can add trees there if you have good ones.
If you have a flooded terrain then turn off waves in RoRconfig.
Description: An off-road racing course set in the desert. 700m x 700m. Includes parallax mapping version and FPS version.
Currently has minor issues:
* Seams between textures are strange, they're reflective and glow at night.
* Texture Shadows don't work with the vegetation or the terrain shader.

This is an FPS mod to Box5's Baker Ranch I basically removed the trees, wheat, and logs except for the ones at the mill. This is for all whose computers can't handle Baker Ranch without FPS boost.

I have decided to release MitCity officially, since I won't do any more work on it, I find it a bit of a waste to just "cancel" MitCity after how far it's come, so now, go enjoy the Final Release of MitCity.
The Map has countless elements suitable for roleplay, it has a fire station, a hospital, an impound lot, repairshop, car dealer, airport (non working) gas stations, variaty of houses from flats to villas. it even has a test centre for cars, test the suspension there, or do a full spec crashtest. the possibilities are endless!

UPDATE 3: Fixed some more texture issues and replaced the grass and asphalt textures with higher resolution alternatives since I accidentally scaled them down before.
UPDATE 2: Fixed a possible crashing bug on the FPS version of the map. Also fixed some texture issues and added mini images. Might have done some other minor stuff that I don't recall at the moment.
UPDATE: Now has a race around it. You'll need to regen your cache for the race to show up.
This is Mountain Run. It has one 6 or so kilometer long road that weaves amongst the mountains. It's also good for crawling if that's what you like to do. Features alpha splatting and proper ground models.
The one and only Mount Hamont. A deadly road, more then 50 deaths each month, not for unskilled drivers.
Only a few made it to the village Hamont, but the most, crashed. A lot had to return, but for most, the turning back became fatal.
Semi's will never get to the village. But the question is, how does the village get their supplies?
You have to bring them the supplies, your choice what vehicle.

Added grass. It is the first time I added grass.
The Ford can be found in the Cars and Light vehicles section of the forum.
The houses appear to be disappeared in the last update when I added the grass, so there is not a small village anymore.

I wanted to acheive a straight long enough to max out every car, whilst making the terrain itself fun to take pictures, offroad on that kind of thing.
The straight is approx. 8km long, although I believe its actually slightly longer. and the offroad trails are longer.

This is a small terrain I made in order to stress test my objects' collision meshes and also as a test-run of a possible Greek terrain to be made in the future. It is almost exclusively a crawling terrain, you won't make it more than a few meters in anything two-wheel-drive and even non-locking diffs will make things difficult.

The mountain is around 530m tall, and the key feature of the terrain, is the insane road that spirals it way to the peak. There is a tall communications mast situated on the summit, owned by the small company: "Eagles Peak Telecom International", who have a small office at the islands port. There is a small port/base area with a hanger, docks, ferry loader, truckshop, load spawner.
This is a map I've modified a long time ago, the. zip contains two maps, one with and one without streetlamps.
