I have always liked car sounds and in games I want them to be as realistic as possible. RoR uses a simple and quite effective system so I gave it a try and the outcome pleased me.
This sound most probably reflects a modern american well mufflered V8. Yet you can rev it really high and get that aggressive noise out of it.
The .zip contains the following files:
V8 Startup
V8 Idle
V8 Low
V8 Med
V8 High
BOV
readme
The installation is also very simple: extract, rename and overwrite. More precise instructions can be found in the readme file. The sound also has a mild turbo whistle so I decided to add my BOV file
for the ones that may want to use it.
I tested my sounds on three Gabster´s cars (hope he doesn´t mind) which are also in the video, therefore the best performance is also likely going to be with those three cars. Each cars´ sound system
is somewhat different so different cars may result in slightly different sounds.
Sounds are from: Northstar 4.4l LC3 Supercharged V8 and Ford´s 4.6 L SOHC 3-valve V8
It is my first upload so please don´t be mad with me if I screwed something up. And please don´t make mods of my mod.
It is allowed to use my sounds with your new car mods, but in that case please give the author some credit.
This is another mod to the BoxDodgeRam. This time, it's been modded into a white 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.9L V8 Magnum and 46RE 4-speed automatic transmission. The tailgate, doors, and hood still move. All sounds are from my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. Special thanks to cummingsflatbed for helping me with the locking differentials
This is a mod to the Expie by adiodat. I turned it into a 2004 Dodge Durango with a 5.7L Hemi V8. Flares are the same, except that the controls were moved 2 numbers up. I added high beams and fog lights, which are controlled with Ctrl-1 and Ctrl-2, respectively. Sounds were recorded from my mom's 2004 Dodge Durango
This is another mod to the BoxDodgeRam. This time, it's been modded into a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 5.9L V8 Magnum and the 46RE 4-speed automatic transmission. I fixed the gear ratios and the max speed is 171 MPH, much higher than it was designed to go to. It's also been equipped with a 97dB Ecco back-up alarm and double flashing strobes in the fog lights and brake lights. The tailgate, doors, and hood still move. I updated the file with quieter sounds. All sounds are from my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500
