Here's my jeep, it's been in development for nearly a year, it's my first vehicle that I finished.
It features:
-Seperate hood/grille, for (atleast decent) deformation (My first try):
"Deformation is awesome." -Gabester -Dana 44 axles
-Atlas II transfercase
-Powerglide transmission
I've used real life gear ratios from both the gearbox and transfercase.
-Hemi engine
With custom sounds.
-Custom liftkit
Credits to Fat-Alfie for his shock texture.
-Beadlocks
-38" Pitbull Rockers
-Custom made rollcage
-Bucket seats
-Rotating driveshafts
-Openable boot and bonnet
-A wide variety of moving parts
-Super soft tyres
Thanks to Fat-Alfie's wheelbeams
-and lots more.
[18-03-2012]-Fixed the idle sound, added ropables, made steering stronger. [08-05-2012]-Wheels tuning: added meshwheels2 and did some more tuning to Fat-Alfie's wheelbeams. Less bouncy wheels, better handling on and off the trails. -Minor fixes.
I decided to add full collision since Multiplayer now has collision. They should crash somewhat well into each other. You can crawl on them with the truggy or other big vehicles There also Blue in this version.
This is a standalone zip, so just place in packs or vehicles folder and play.
This truck performs really well on slow technical offroad terrain. Theres alot of rear articulation to make for some fun crawling. It's fairly stable at high speeds, and also drift really well on dirt in 8th gear or so.
Please remember its built for slow offroad driving mostly, so I had to sacrifice some strength in the steering/suspension to get the good articulation and twist in the axles for somewhat realistic crawling.
It has emmisive lights, I wanted to leave flares off of it.
Custom meshes include, Side steps, bed rails, Mirrors, hitch, axles.
Most my testing was done in 1st gear going through offroad terrain, thats what its built for so don't expect a high speed offroad run to hold up.
'Stock' and 'BlueComp' feature meshwheels
FoxComp, MidnightChrome and GreenComp feature flexbody wheels
All versions feature shocks2, torque curve, engineoptions, custom sounds, and lockable axles (a must for crawling). I would recommend using manual gears with an analogue controller for best results.
Thanks to Box5Diesel, Joebus, Squishy, Miura and KevinMcE for testing, help and advice.
