I have always liked car sounds and in games I want them to be as realistic as possible. RoR uses a simple and quite effective system so I gave it a try and the outcome pleased me.
This sound most probably reflects a modern american well mufflered V8. Yet you can rev it really high and get that aggressive noise out of it.
The .zip contains the following files:
V8 Startup
V8 Idle
V8 Low
V8 Med
V8 High
BOV
readme
The installation is also very simple: extract, rename and overwrite. More precise instructions can be found in the readme file. The sound also has a mild turbo whistle so I decided to add my BOV file
for the ones that may want to use it.
I tested my sounds on three Gabster´s cars (hope he doesn´t mind) which are also in the video, therefore the best performance is also likely going to be with those three cars. Each cars´ sound system
is somewhat different so different cars may result in slightly different sounds.
Sounds are from: Northstar 4.4l LC3 Supercharged V8 and Ford´s 4.6 L SOHC 3-valve V8
It is my first upload so please don´t be mad with me if I screwed something up. And please don´t make mods of my mod.
It is allowed to use my sounds with your new car mods, but in that case please give the author some credit.
This is a mod to the Expie by adiodat. I turned it into a 2004 Dodge Durango with a 5.7L Hemi V8. High beam lights are controlled with Ctrl-1, and fog lights are controlled with Ctrl-2. Hidden strobes are activated with Ctrl-4. Sounds were recorded from my mom's 2004 Dodge Durango
Please ignore the police Durango pictures, as I unintentionally selected them
This is a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. It was made from dneufeld's Ram 2500 pack. I added 5.9L 24V Cummins sounds and 2004 Ram sounds. I also fixed the flares to match the truck more realistically
Credits go to dneufeld for the original Ram 2500 pack
This is a mod of the International4700_pack. The trucks are all 1998 International 4700s and are as follows:
5th Wheel (DT466E)
Gooseneck (T444E)
Flatbed (DT466E)
Long Flatbed (T444E)
Terrain Truck (DT466E)
Sounds were recorded from a 1998 International 3800 school bus (built from the 4700) with a 7.6L DT466E, and from a T444E engine
Credits go to dneufeld for the original International 4700 pack
