This is my first attempt at making nice looking terrain, it still has some issues with FPS but does come with an FPS version.
Brutal Valley is designed mainly for off-roading with about 1 km long rock course and other tracks, but it is also good for driving, rallying or hauling.
Comes with 6 versions:
Brutal Valley (Standard)
Brutal Valley Wet (Hard)
Brutal Valley Dry (Easy)
Brutal Valley Fps (Standard)
Brutal Valley Wet Fps (Hard)
Brutal Valley Dry Fps (Easy)
Flex ramp is by Dennis-W.
Textures from Google images.
Trees/bushes by LJFHutch.
Bogs by MICRACER.
Caelum settings by Brickman.
Rest by Straubz.
Thanks to all my Beta testers that helped along the way.
If you wish to view some of the development or post your comments or any problems you find please do so in the thread Brutal-Valley
Hello this is a little Mod of the original Desert Trails. I just add some Roads, Sign and Houses (From the Greece Map)
I've put the roads with the Renault Terrain Editor Truck. I've not replace all the driveables zones with roads just some parts
Anyway I hope that you like this map and if YES help me with some advice, I will appreciate it
LJFHutch for the default map and other objetcs.
LJFHutch for his Greece's Houses and Church
RoR Toolkit for put in the map signs and other things
Renault Crane for helped me put roads in the map (http://www.rigsofrods.com/repository/view/3765) and for the Tutorial by pedropp22
Quite big update, even if everything cannot be seen:
- A big rock
- More trails
- Performance optimization
- Underwater is dark
- Detailled textures reworked
- Better shading
A small island with detailled ground for offroad fun! Try to get on the water near the marina, there is a path there.
You will also find a giant parabolic antenna and an oil buoy inspired by Brent Spar where you can land with an helicopter.
There is also a little rock-crawling trail.
Hope you'll like it
Thanks Lifter for testing
CGtextures for Brent Spar and ground
Map made with L3DT
1.5km x 1.5km.
The terrain is set in rural Greece and includes farmland, villages, forests and mountains. There is a long network of dirt and asphalt roads which run throughout the terrain and the various areas of the map complete with signs. An FPS version with reduced vegetation density and distances for use with slower computers is also included which gives a significant increase in performance.
1. Copy .zip and paste it into your RoR terrain folder (such as "C:UsersYOURNAMEDocumentsRigs of Rods 0.38terrains" (Windows 7) 2. Open the .zip and then go to a folder called "+++ Impostors +++", inside you will find a bunch of png files; copy these to wherever RoR stores imposters (default is the root directory - where the ror.exe is).
3. Run RoR and drive
I give permission for anyone to use the objects, textures, sounds and anything else created by me in this .zip for free Rigs of Rods projects provided I, LJFHutch, am credited with their creation. I also give permission to adapt or modify the objects/textures etc to suit your terrain (such as retexturing a tree's leaves, changing the saturation of the grass texture, etc), again, with proper credit and so long as you do not claim to have created them yourself. However, seek my permission for any published modification of this terrain.
Road sign textures - public domain, Swedish Transport Administration.
Normal map shader - Artifex Terra 3D, thanks also to Nipash for helping me out with that.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out, especially DeGa and Nipash.
Since the base content is now shipped separately, here is Belgium on the repository for you to re-discover it!
It's the first map I ever made, it was originally for 1nsane. It has been converted to RoR with great success, in terms of details, height resolution, vegetation, mud and rocks. There are plenty of things to be done there. Each part is designed for you to have fun. It's mainly good for offroad.
I'd like to thank the following members for their help during this first map building, they gave me the RoR-love (I may shed a tear ;-) ):
Delete the old zip!
Includes FPS and regular
What is it?
This terrain is all about testing your skills in the various aspects of off-roading. It's pretty large with all kinds of stuff for everyone to enjoy ;D
You can rock crawl, bounce, mud bog, or race your friends baja style!
If you don't cheat, the rock crawling trail can take 1+ hours!!!
-Double diamond extreme rock crawling trail (right side)
-Diamond rock bouncing trail (left side)
-Nastiest mud bog in RoR (middle)
-LJ's rocks and vegitation meshes
-TANK TRAP!!! (bouncer trail)
-One of the largest, and most challenging, hill climbs at the end of the crawling trail
LJ for meshes
Straubz for helping me learn how to do all this in every aspect
Grecian for texture help
xGRAVEKILLERx for server
Special thanks to:
Jaw-4: has been here since beta 01! We've stayed up until 3am working on this map, and he's worked day and night with me. Provided some great pics for me to edit, like the baja mini
Ford_Boy: also been here since beta 01! He's the one who told me what other's wouldn't, such as how I went over-board with rocks XD
It's a quarry-style map. One of the first I made for RoR, converted from 1nsane. I spent a lot of time some years ago to sculpt this map for making it interesting with trucks and rock crawlers. I don't think I will work on it anymore so here it is if you like it.
Warning: everything except the quarry part is rubbish - you've been warned.
This is a off road map that features a 200m high mountain with several challenging tracks.
Straubz(me) for the terrain and mesh placement.
LJFHutch for the rocks.
MICRACER for the rest of the meshes.
