Make sure you start all 4 engines, flaps are on the main wing in the middle and can be used for heavy steering (tilt 90degrees, full elevator and use flap a bit)
OLD VERSION!
DHC-6 Twin otter V1!
I just tweaked a bunch of things, I figured it was good enough to release...
I will update to V2 if I make significant changes in the future.
I t flies pretty well, the biggest issue would be that the engines make too much power even at idle so it is hard to land (but if you use full flaps and keep your speed low throughout the approach it works, the other option is to use the reverse to slow down...)
I also included a pitch trim (crude but works) F1=trim up, F2=trim down.
Nothing much other that...
Enjoy and let me know what you think [http://forum.rigsofrods.com/index.php/topic,349.0.html here]
This is Aorzte's great Lufthansa AN12 skin with new .airplane and .material files by me so you can have both AN12's at the same time!
Installation: Just dump into RoR/packs,and that's it! Please credit Aorzte for his skin should you use it. Thanks!
This is Aortze's DHL skin with new .material and .airplane files by me. Please credit Aortze if you use his skin. Thanks!
Installation: Just drop into your packs folder and fly!
New skin for Twin Otter. I have made a skin that it looks like an air Canada plane. I used the real logo of the company. I have also made a new wheel face. Now it looks like real airplane wheels.
New .material and .airplane files by me.
Just put the downloaded files in your trucks folder. ENJOY IT!!
New version, version 3! Removed some wheels, changed shocks, added unique-id...

Right everyone, this is still highly developmental. Sano, who modified the an12 to my design has claimed the project ?dead? but I hope otherwise. If anyone trys this, finds it fun or whatever and wants to help, please msn, forum post me or w/e.
I am not overly sure if I packed this correctly, so if it doesnt work, please tell me.
To use it, simply drive a car underneath the 4 dangling hitches, and press O (secure) and it should immediately grab onto the car and lift it up into position.
If it doesnt or it goes slightly wrong, you can extend and retract the cables with f5 and f6.
The idea of the vehicle is to simply pick up the cherokee or something, fly around, the go low and release it. Should the cherokee have been neutral and stuff, it could survive and be drivin off. Although it does work with crates too.
Please let me know what you think. Most info is in the forum post
I have fixed the propellers and strengthened some parts of the plane.
The gear is still a little crap but its better, i also fine tuned the trim and now it dose a slight climb at high speeds.
Its still recommended to use some flaps on take off as its harder to get speed up when theres still lots of weight on the wheels.
This is not meant to be simple to fly, i have tried to put some flaws of the real plane into this one, yes it can go into a flat spin if you climb straight up and stall, and it can skid a little when your doing a low speed turn.
Always remember to use flaps, they are a life saver and a necessity when fling this plane.
Retract the gear with F3 and lower with F4.
P.s. the repository renames this to P38lightning_1.zip, i forgot to give it a new unique id so you need to delete the old p38 before you use this one.
This is RC 1.0 of the SU-37 model I have been working on.
It flies quite well and is extremely agile, even at high speeds and very low speeds ( be carefull when steering, it is quite easy to oversteer and stall her ). She can be quite unstable at low speeds, I blame the canards and her heavy tail.
She's still quite fragile so care must be exersized when landing.
In flight she is quite solid, the wings will remain rigid even at high speeds.
The skin isn't much to look at at the moment, it would be greatly appreciated if someone could lend a hand in that because it is definitely not my skill.
Of course the main feature would be her twin vectored thrust jets which aid amazingly in low speed maneuvering. As of now they only support rolling of the jet due to limitations of the Hydros.
The Sukhoi SU_37 "Flanker-F" is a solid turbojet driven acrobatic fighter craft. Due to the vectored thrust system she retains under the controll of the pilot even while stalling.
Changes:
- Some minor tweaks to the balance of the plane, trimming some fat, etc.
- A smoke trail system for when you are doing acrobatics.
- Rigidifiers applied for added stability.
- Material file fixed.
- New 'mini' picture.
- The ability for the vectored thrusters to also work as elevators. To enable this you will need to map the commands 47 to UP and 48 to DOWN ( on the standard RoR controll layout ).
First week of summer, so I decided to finish this. =)
From Wikipedia: "The Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II is a single-seat, single-engine, stealth-capable military strike fighter, a multi-role aircraft that can perform close air support, tactical bombing, and air superiority fighter missions. The F-35 has three different models; one is the conventional takeoff and landing variant, the second is short-takeoff and vertical-landing variant, and the third is a carrier-based variant."
Modelled this one loosely around the F35-A (CTOL) variant. Its a fast plane that can be tricky to fly sometimes and prone to breaking spontaneously.
Tips for flying:
-Taxi slowly on the ground to maintain control
-Take off without afterburners to reduce risk of faceplant
-Avoid making continous barrelrolls or turning sharply at high speeds (cause wing may break :S)
-Engage airbrakes and glide slowly onto runway to land (gently)
a pack of 2 twin otters that i added turbojets to. 1 has a set of removable jets under it. use o to lock them in place after spawning. extract file to your trucks folder.
