Finally, sputnik_1 and me are releasing the first trains and a map to run them! All files are being uploaded to the repository and should be available soon! What you will get is a nice map called "Train Valley" including a mainline with catenary and several small sidings as well as complex trackwork with switches. As for the trains, you need to choose between sputnik_1's wonderful model of the Henschel DHG700C switcher along with a european flatcar, and my Bombardier ALP-45DP. Thanks go to sputnik_1 who made all this working! Thanks for your help, creativity and endurance mate! Also thanks to everyone who helped testing this and contributed to the project, especially the invited members. And finally to donoteat, who made the original tracks that were modified and who is working on some very awesome new trains!
Here is a small video introducing the Bombardier ALP 45-DP locomotive I build for RoR. Still not finished, things might change for the final release. So far featuring animated cab view, wipers, fans and other things. Sounds are being reworked, still have to change and add some more. And I did a quite nice render of it in blender, maybe you like it Suggestions and comments welcome

Today I want to show you another little project I am working on :-) I thought about how we could bring some life to the RoR world in SP, and first thing I thought about where actually trains. So I created a simple model of a trolley (images for textures taken from google... don't know the authors from them, so I might not realease these trolley models). The mesh sits on a simple N/B chassis, that slides along a meshed rail and is propulsed by a rotator which is activeted by a trigger. This causes the trolleys to instantly move until their physics are activated, they don't have an actual engine. Be carful when crossing tracks, they are contactive With something heavy you can also push them off the tracks. Thanks to sputnik_1 for the idea with the rotator used for propulsion! :-) Last but not least, here is the video: Please comment and tell me what you think about this :-)

Today I wanted to show you a small video introducing the current state of trains in Rigs of Rods :-)You will see the trains do actually work (if you can't believe :P ), also switching tracks and loading other vehicles.Credits are in the video-description, thanks to everyone who contributed to this project. All vehicles seen here are not final ;-)
